  • Roman Reigns pins Drew McIntyre
  • Ricochet beats Samoa Joe to win the United States Title, Daniel Bryan and Rowan defeat Heavy Machinery

2.10am: Roman Reigns defeated Drew McIntyre

Well that was quite a finish to the match. Reigns connected with a Spear only for Shane to pull the referee out of the ring.

Shane O’Mac would hit Coast to Coast on Roman and pull the referee back in to count the three but Reigns kicked out.

Roman would overcome the odds and deliver a second Spear for a big victory with the crowd solidly behind him. Can’t remember I heard such positive reactions for Reigns.

2am: As expected Shane McMahon is getting involved at every opportunity.

McIntyre has dominated most of the match but something tells me there will be a comeback and probably shenanigans towards the end of this one.

Even with the interference I reckon this is better than the WrestleMania bout between them.

Drew doesn’t feel like a big star though because of his indifferent booking.

1.47am: Roman Reigns vs Drew McIntyre is up next in a WrestleMania rematch.

Reigns won that one in what was a disappointing match if we’re being honest. You can expect Shane McMahon and The Revival to probably get involved with this one.

That means The Usos might as well. Or we could be pleasantly surprised and get a one-on-one match.

Who am I kidding?!

1.40am: Bayley defeated Alexa Bliss to retain the SmackDown Women’s Championship

And just like that Bayley retains as Nikki Cross gets involved.

Good match and the right winner again. Something feels off here, the WWE are booking this show well. When is it going to go off the rails?

Bayley stands tall and I’m half expecting Bliss to turn on Cross either now or on RAW tomorrow night.

1.37am: Bayley and Alexa Bliss are clearly wanting to put on a great match here.

Bayley just connected with a sunset flip powerbomb into the turnbuckle on the challenger which is just one of many big moves we’ve seen.

Nikki Cross has been taken out inadvertently by Bayley with a Suicide Dive.

Bliss dragged Nikki in the way and escaped harm. She’s some friend, who’d have seen that one coming?!

1.25am: We stay with SmackDown as Bayley defends her title against Alexa Bliss up next.

Don’t forget Nikki Cross has formed some sort of alliance with Bliss and will be in her corner during the match.

Bliss has beaten Bayley before for the title but can she do it again tonight?

I’m rooting for the Hugger but with Cross at ringside nothing would surprise me.

1.18am: Daniel Bryan & Rowan defeated Heavy Machinery to retain the SmackDown Tag Team Championship

Well that was way better than I expected it would be. Bryan retains as he gets Tucker in a Small Package but I’d actually like to see these go at it again.

Man I miss Bryan as a face though with the reactions he was getting here.

Shout out to Otis as well, he was highly impressive throughout. Really fun match and a fun show so far!

1am: Ricochet defeated Samoa Joe to win the United States Championship

An incredible 630 Splash and we have a new United States Champion as Ricochet wuns major singles gold for the first time.

He heads backstage and is congratulated by Seth Rollins, Charlotte, Triple H, Heavy Machinery and others. What a great moment. And now it is time for the SmackDown Tag Team Titles to be defended.

Heavy Machinery vs Daniel Bryan and Rowan up next!

12.54am: The power and speed of Samoa Joe is insane. Ricochet has the pace high but put of nowhere Joe connects with the powerslam.

Things now get more methodical with the United States Champion in control.

Ricochet is impressing here and you feel like he needs the win if they want to establish him as a top star.

When you think these two are fighting for the US Title and Baron Corbin has a Universal Title shot later tonight it really underlines the problems WWE has right now.

12.45am: The action keeps coming thick and fast with the match that most have been looking forward to the most this evening.

The United States Title is on the line as Ricochet challenges Samoa Joe.

These two should mesh well with their differing styles. Joe is the favourite here as he has only just won the title following an injury to Rey Mysterio.

12.38am: Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn defeated The New Day

This was a great deal of fun with wreckage absolutely everywhere.

Kevin Owens wins with the Stunner on Xavier Woods. Woods had already taken a Helluva Kick and a Pop-Up Powerbomb but Big E broke up the pin attempt.

The fans chanting this is awesome repeatedly underlines how fun this was considering it was only given just over 10 minutes.

Very enjoyable sprint and Owens and Zayn would be a great addition to the tag team division on either RAW or SmackDown.

12.27am: Up next it is Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn taking on New Day members Big E and Xavier Woods.

This could actually be a contender for match of the night if they have a fair amount of time.

What a start to the match as Kevin Owens connects with three Superkicks and a top rope senton. Owens and Sami Zayn could really add something to the tag team division.

Blue Thunder Bomb for a near fall!

12.20am: Becky Lynch defeated Lacey Evans to retain the RAW Women’s Championship

The Man retains the title by making Lacey Evans tap out to the Disarm-Her.

In the end a match that was tolerable and the right decision in Lynch retaining.

Lots of mentions relating to Lynch and her boyfriend Seth Rollins. It is making me think Becky may get involved in the main event somehow.

The first match of the night is in the books and Becky Lynch picks up the win!

12.15am: Lacey Evans is struggling again here. It isn’t on the same level as how bad her match was with Charlotte Flair on RAW a few weeks ago but it isn’t great.

Becky is doing well to get a decent performance out of her but there has been a couple of botches already.

I am legitimately scared they might put the title on Evans which frankly would be a ridiculous decision for everyone involved.

Becky is over huge with the crowd.

12am: We are live for WWE Stomping Grounds and the RAW Women’s Championship is on the line to start the show.

Becky Lynch defends against Lacey Evans. We’ve already seen the Cruiserweight Title change hands so will it be two from two?

The Man will hope not as she looks to continue her momentum after beating Ronda Rousey at WrestleMania.

11.54pm: Drew Gulak defeated Akira Tozawa and Tony Nese to win the Cruiserweight Championship

We have a new champion! Tony Nese wasn’t pinned but Drew Gulak is the new champion.

He connects with a Torture Rack Neckbreaker to get the one, two, three on the Japanese star.

The first of many title changes tonight I wonder?

11.37pm: The first match of the night is underway as the Cruiserweight Championship is on the line.

Tony Nese defends in a Triple Threat Match against Drew Gulak and Akira Tozawa.

The superstars of 205 Live kickoff the action at Stomping Grounds.

Will Nese defend the gold?

11.30pm: We will see a Steel Cage match tonight as Kofi Kingston defends the WWE Championship against Dolph Ziggler.

It seems unlikely that we will crown a new champion but if tonight is the night Brock Lesnar cashes in his Money in the Bank what about it being a swerve and the Best going after Kofi.

Would certainly add some intrigue and a match between Brock and Kofi intrigues me for sure.

Having said that the cash in does fit the storyline for Seth Rollins vs Baron Corbin. We’ll have to wait and see but my money is on Brock not even appearing tonight.

11.15pm: Not sure what match is going to take place on the Kickoff show now. It was previously advertised to be the SmackDown Tag Team Champions Daniel Bryan and Rowan vs Heavy Machinery.

But so far there has been no mention of it on the Kickoff panel.

To be honest Bryan deserves to be on the main card every single time. Let’s wait and see I guess.

Stomping Grounds match card

Universal Champion Seth Rollins vs. Baron Corbin

WWE Champion Kofi Kingston vs. Dolph Ziggler (Steel Cage Match)

Raw Women’s Champion Becky Lynch vs. Lacey Evans

SmackDown Women’s Champion Bayley vs. Alexa Bliss

Roman Reigns vs. Drew McIntyre

United States Champion Samoa Joe vs. Ricochet

SmackDown Tag Team Champions Daniel Bryan & Rowan vs. Heavy Machinery

Big E & Xavier Woods vs. Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn

WWE Cruiserweight Champion Tony Nese vs. Akira Tozawa vs. Drew Gulak (Triple Threat Match)

10.50pm: Welcome to our coverage of WWE Stomping Grounds, a pay-per-view with a name up there with the likes of last year’s Great Balls of Fire.

It also has a logo to match as well.

Tonight the main question is whether Brock Lesnar shows up to cash in his Money in the Bank contract or not.

He could in theory get involved in either Seth Rollins vs Baron Corbin or Kofi Kingston vs Dolph Ziggler.
