Every year WWE fans hope to see Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson make a shock comeback to the ring for WrestleMania but it currently doesn’t seem like he will perform at the wrestling extravaganza.

Johnson’s last Mania appearance took place three years ago where he also competed in his last ever recorded match as he defeated Rowan in just six seconds.

Since then The People’s Champion has been concentrating on Hollywood where he has become a huge movie star with notable roles in various blockbuster hits like the Fast & Furious franchise.

However, the 10-time world champion hasn’t lost his passion for wrestling as he revealed a few months ago that he would love to return to WWE in some capacity.

The Rock said: “I can’t wait to get back into a WWE ring.

“Everybody always asks me what’s it like being in a WWE ring and I always tell them, there’s a lot of celebrities and athletes too, I say there’s nothing like it.

“There’s nothing like [being] inside a WWE ring because there’s a certain live crowd acumen, there’s great connective tissue that’s second to none.

“That was always, and will always be the best part of my job when it comes to wrestling, whether I’m wrestling a match or just giving a promo.

“That connection with the audience, there’s nothing like it.”

The Rock is one of the the greatest legends in professional wrestling history as he revolutionised the business with his edgy character, explosive promos and in-ring talent during the Attitude Era.

The ex-WWE Champion has also beaten some of the all-time greats like The Undertaker, Triple H, Kurt Angle and many more throughout his glittering career.

The Great One has had many classic WrestleMania matches as well against the likes of Stone Cold Steve Austin and Hulk Hogan.

His last major WrestleMania bout took place at WrestleMania 29 where he lost the WWE Championship to John Cena.
