It’s been over 20 years since Sarah Ferguson and Prince Andrew divorced. The duo got married in 1986 and spent six years together before filing for divorce. Despite their split, the couple still remain close and Sarah is often pictured alongside members of the Royal Family at official affairs. Most recently, she and Andrew attended Royal Ascot 2019 together, leading fans to speculating they were getting back together. Royal in-laws usually take on official duties of the Royal Family, attending tours on behalf of Queen Elizabeth II. But with Fergie no longer being an official member, what is her job?

Today, Sarah runs multiple businesses, writes books, and spends her time attending charity events and other social engagements.

The Duchess has worked with many charities aimed at children, and in 2018, she merged her charity foundation with Street Child, an organisation run by Tom Dannatt in Bangladesh, Afghanistan and Sierra Leone, of which Sarah has become a patron and her daughters, Beatrice and Eugenie, are the ambassadors.

Last month, Fergie carried out three royal events in one week. She kicked off the week at the opening of the Victorian Fayre at the Royal School, where she met Canon Martin Poll and Headmistress Bev Coombridge.

For day two, she headed back to the school for an awards ceremony. And on day three, Sarah hosted a lunch for Children’s Air Ambulance.

Following her outings, fans reached out to Sarah as they praised her for her amazing charity work.

Does Sarah have any other professions?

Some fans might be surprised to learn that the Duchess is also a trained helicopter pilot.

“I am constantly surprised by her,” said Prince Andrew at the time, as he pinned the wings on her sweater during a ceremony at an air force base in Oxfordshire, 40 miles west of London.

Sarah earned her helicopter pilot’s wings in 1987, as she wanted to learn the pressure her then-husband faced.

The Duke of York joined the Royal Navy in 1979 on a short service commission as a Seaman Officer where he specialised as a Pilot. He flew Royal Navy helicopters in combat during the Falkland Islands war in 1982.

Last year, Sarah revealed that she wants to take up her helicopter licence again, in a bid to kip fit in her 60s.

She said: “I’m thinking of taking up my helicopter license again. I think it’s a good challenge. I also want to do Challenge Anneka for myself. So I’m going to go into my 60th year very fit. Will that be a challenge? Will it be for Street Child? Of course.” recently revealed Fergie’s whopping fortune, after she and Prince Andrew went on al luxurious trip to Bahrain in April.

The royal has managed to accumulate huge wealth from her multiple careers, and she also received a million pound divorce settlement from her split with Prince Andrew.
