9am UPDATE: Adrien Rabiot close to Real Madrid agreement

Liverpool transfer target Adrien Rabiot is close to reaching an agreement with Real Madrid, it has been claimed.

The Paris Saint-Germain ace has refused to sign a new contract and is expected to leave at the end of the season.

Liverpool have been linked with the 24-year-old who has not played for the French champions since December.

French journalist Geoffroy Garetier claims Rabiot is finalising terms with Real Madrid.

Zinedine Zidane is looking to overhaul his squad this summer and the midfielder looks to be on his way to the Bernabeu.

Real want a long-term replacement for Luka Modric and Rabiot fits the bill.

8.30am UPDATE: Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has no agreement with Ed Woodward

Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has failed to reach an agreement with Ed Woodward over his transfer budget this summer.

During discussions last month because of uncertainty over United’s top four position no final amount was decided.

If the Red Devils do qualify for the Champions League Solskjaer will receive and extra £60million to spend, according to the Metro.

If United are not in Europe’s elite competition they could struggle to attract the likes of Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund.

8am UPDATE: Wolves to sign Raul Jimenez

Wolves will complete the permanent signing of Raul Jimenez in the next 24 hours.

Sky Sports claim the deal will be worth £30million with the 27-year-old impressing at Molineux this season.

Jimenez has netted 15 goals in all competitions and helped Wolves to seventh in the Premier League table.

The forward has been on loan from Benfica but has agreed a four-year deal with the club.

It will break Wolves’ transfer record which was the £18m they paid for Adama Traore last summer.

7.30am UPDATE: Man Utd transfer plans uncovered

Manchester United have conceded the need to give their squad a bigger than expected summer shake up after losing further ground in the race for a top four finish.

Both new manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and executive vice chairman Ed Woodward had originally intended to stick to a “three in, three out” summer window.

But with evidence mounting that the current squad is not fit for purpose to meet ambitious targets, the board are ready to sanction a bigger overhaul than had originally been planned.

United are well aware they need defensive reinforcements with one of Harry Maguire, Toby Alderweireld, Raphael Varane or Napoli’s Kalidou Koulibaly potential targets.

Further forward United remain interested in England starlet Declan Rice from West Ham and keen to bring Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund to Old Trafford.

United are also thought to have considered a move for Ivan Rakitic, who looks set to lose his starting spot at Barcelona to new arrival Frenkie de Jong.

7am UPDATE: Barcelona eye Philippe Coutinho swap

Barcelona are open to the idea of a swap deal which would see Philippe Coutinho leave for Juventus with Paulo Dybala coming to the Nou Camp.

The former Liverpool midfielder has failed to impress at the Catalan club since he made a move in January of last year.

And Dybala is also ready to quit Juventus with Cristiano Ronaldo getting preferential treatment since his switch from Real Madrid, according to Calciomercato.

Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester United are all interested in Coutinho as well.

Arsenal are plotting their summer transfers, with Bournemouth star Ryan Fraser at the top of their wish list.

Football London add that Leandro Trossard of Genk and Boca Juniors ace Cristian Pavon are also on Arsenal’s shortlist.

However, it’s claimed the Gunners will not commit to anything until they know their budget for the summer window.

Emery will have more of an idea of his budget once the Champions League spots are decided in the Premier League.

6am UPDATE: Liverpool told to sign Toby Alderweireld

Liverpool legend Steve Nicol has revealed who he would love to partner Virgil van Dijk in defence.

“One hundred per cent this guy’s going,” Nicol said of Tottenham ace Toby Alderweireld.

“We just don’t know where it is.

“Again, this is a player who I think most teams in the world would want as their centre-back.

“I wouldn’t mind him at Liverpool alongside Van Dijk, I think that would be a great pairing.

“So yes, he’s going to leave. Where does he go? I guess it’s up to him.

“If he wants to move for money, he will go for the highest bidder regardless.

“But if he wants trophies, and you’ve got someone like Varane wanting to leave Real Madrid, I wouldn’t be shocked if that was where he turns up.

“Yeah [he will have a lot of teams to pick from], no question.”
