The Spice World jaunt was a big success; playing 13 stadium shows around the country to huge enthusiasm from fans. Amid rumours of an extension that would take the show to Australia, as well as confirmed plans for an animated movie, Scary Spice has now revealed whether she hopes that she, Melanie C, Emma Bunton and Geri Horner will return to the studio together.

Speaking on Good Morning Britain, she told Susanna Reid and Piers Morgan: “That’s a discussion that we haven’t had properly between the four of us, but I think we should.

“I would love more Spice Girls music, but the thing is… I wonder if we’ve still got it, if we get in the studio.

“We might not have it!”

When the hosts pointed to their proven track record with penning global smash hits, Mel reasoned: ”That was 20 years ago that we wrote those songs, you know?”

Spice Girls’ last original music came out in 2007, when they released the one-off charity song Headlines (Friendship Never Ends).

In their original time together, they released three albums – Spice, Spiceworld and Forever.

Victoria Beckham has put her popstar career behind her, and did not join the tour – and in the same interview today, Mel admitted she was “disappointed” not to see her in the audience at any point.

“I expected her to come and just say hi at least,” she said.

“Not even on stage, just as an audience member supporting.

“I’m sure she has her reasons for not. I’ve already said, ‘yeah I was upset’, I still am a little bit.

“It is what it is and us girls we all support each other no matter what, but yeah it is disappointing.”

She also praised Horner for apologising on-stage for quitting the band in 1998.

At the time, Ginger Spice went on to become one of the country’s most successful female solo artists, with four number ones.
