Last year, Guns N’ Roses completed their Not in This Lifetime… Tour, their first with their classic line-up members since 1993. There have been hints of the first studio album in a decade too and now Slash has shared the latest update. Speaking with Consequence of Sound, the 53-year-old rock star said: “There’s a handful of gigs that are happening at the very end of September and through October, so [Louder Than Life is] just one of them. And then it’s really just focusing on getting a new record done.”

On if a new Guns N’ Roses album would release before the next team up with Myles Kennedy & The Conspirators record, Slash was hopeful.

He said: “I would hope so! I mean that’s one of those things where it remains to be seen, but I would hope so. But we’ll see what happens.”

Meanwhile, fellow classic rock band AC/DC are rumoured to be teaming up again with Brian Johnson back as lead singer.

The frontman was replaced during the band’s Rock or Bust tour by Guns N’ Roses’ Axl Rose after Johnson had to step down due to hearing problems.

Slash added: “There are no other bands that actually play that brand of really ’50s-influenced straight-up rock ‘n’ roll like AC/DC.

“I love them for that. I think Phil Rudd is one of the best drummers of all time. So anytime he was not in the band, I was always disappointed.

“But it’s great that Cliff [Williams is] going to be back because I remember being backstage with those guys at the end of the last tour and him saying that he was gone and that he was retired.

“So it’s great that everybody’s back, but it’s especially awesome that Brian [Johnson] is back.”
