Tags is asking readers if they agree with Meghan and Harry’s decision to keep the birth private. The couple released a statement last week saying they will not share the news with the world until they have had time to “celebrate privately”. The announcement prompted a mixed reaction, with the royal couple facing some criticism.

The statement said: “The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are very grateful for the goodwill they have received from people throughout the United Kingdom and around the world as they prepare to welcome their baby.

“Their Royal Highnesses have taken a personal decision to keep the plans around the arrival of their baby private.

“The Duke and Duchess look forward to sharing the exciting news with everyone once they have had an opportunity to celebrate privately as a new family.”

The move is a break from recent royal tradition, as Kate and Princess Diana both posed on the steps of the Lindo Wing with their newborns.

However, Meghan and Harry’s tot will be lower down in the line of succession than the Cambridge children.

The Sussexes recently moved to Frogmore Cottage in Windsor ahead of the birth.

The property underwent multimillion pound renovations to make it into the perfect family home.

Speculation is mounting that 37-year-old Meghan could opt for a home birth.

If she does opt for a hospital delivery, the Kensington wing of Chelsea and Westminster Hospital is thought to be a possible option.

Frimley Park Hospital in Surrey and American-owned hospital The Portland have also been suggested.

Former actress Meghan is due to give birth later this month or in early May but the exact date is not known.

Harry’s wife has reportedly appointed a female doctor to lead her delivery team, rather then the Queen’s expert gynaecologists, as she does not want “the men in suits” in charge of the birth.
