Melania Trump opted for a casual look as she wore a lilac Valentino coat and black pumps to return to Washington D.C. after a weekend away.

The designer coat cut off just below her hip and featured two black buttons on each side as she wore it open.

She wore the coat over a black jumper and paired the look with a pair of the coat with a pair of dark blue skinny jeans.

She completed the casual look with a pair of leather pumps and wore large sunglasses as she left a private plane with her husband, Donald Trump, 72.

The former model wore the Valentino double-breasted peacoat in a statement colour after spending the weekend in Palm Beach, Florida, where she met with Venezuelan journalist Fabiana Rosales.

Fabian Rosales is the wife of Juan Guaidó, who is partially recognised as the acting president of Venezuela, and Melania described the meeting as “inspiring” on her Instagram account later that day.

As she returned home, she matched her sold-out coat with a slick of pink lipstick and brush of bronzer and kept her eyes hidden behind a recycled pair of Saint Laurent shades.

The First Lady wore her hair down and it was styled into a bouncy blow-dry.

On her feet, Melania wore black Manolo Blahnik flats which had a square buckle and pointed toe.

During her trip in Mar a Lago, Melania was spotted wearing a striped utility dress by Derek Lam

The dress had a shirt collar design and featured buttons that continued down the centre until it cut off just above the knee.

The sold out dress had short sleeves that cut at the elbow and Melania was nipped in at the waist by a matching belt.

Melania shared pictures of her outfit on her Instagram account where she also gave details about her meeting with Fabian Rosales.

She wrote: “An inspiring meeting with @FabiiRosales as she shared her passionate ideas and plans to restore democracy and to care for the children of Venezuela. We stand with you & Pres @Jguaido”

Melania is known for her chic wardrobe and often steps out wearing designer clothes

In March, she spent an estimated £17,895 on clothes, according to outfit details documented by one fashion blogger.

Her most expensive garment is thought to be a £5121 purple coat by Bottega Veneta.

On top of her expensive taste in clothes, Melania boasts a huge designer shoe collection which she displayed on her outings last month.

She wore a pair of Kate Louboutins in three different colours that had the combined price tag of £1743.

Melania Trump: Five facts about the USA’s First Lady

Mum-of-one Melania can speak more languages than any other First Lady before her: English, French, German, Italian, Serbian and of course her mother tongue, Slovenian.

This also makes her the only First Lady whose first language is not English.

After Jacqueline Kennedy, Melania is the second First Lady who is a practising Catholic.

She met Pope Francis as part of a foreign tour with her husband and stepdaughter Ivanka last year.

Melania was a successful model, posing for Sports Illustrated, Vanity Fair, Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar and GQ.

Her skills aren’t confined to print, and she appeared in a commercial for Aflac, an American insurance company, in 2005.

Melania’s parents are Amalija Knavs and Viktor Knavs, and the couple live together in Washington.

She has one sister, Ines, who is reported to live in New York and work as an artist.

On May 7 2018, Melania launched her flagship campaign as First Lady, BE BEST, which The White House describes as “an awareness campaign focused entirely around the well-being of children”.

There are three main strands to the initiative: well-being, social media, and opioid abuse.
