Since Meghan Markle’s wedding to Prince Harry, 34, two members of her family have been vocal when it comes to the British press.

Her father Thomas and her sister Samantha have appeared in multiple daytime TV appearances.

Samantha has even timed the release of her book about the Duchess around the time of her upcoming birth.

Royal commentator Angela Morland told the This Morning Show: “Samantha has written a book, she is going to publish it around the time of Meghan giving birth. It’s called In the Shadow of a Duchess.

“She says it’s witty and heartfelt – this from the woman who called her sister Cruella de Vil and said she was going to be responsible for their dad’s premature death.

“The thought that Samantha is going to write a witty and heartfelt tome on this lovely sisterhood, I don’t think so.”

Thomas Markle pulled out of Meghan’s wedding, where he was due to walk her down the aisle, after he claimed to have had a heart attack.

This came shortly after the revelation that Thomas had set up paparazzi pictures.

He has since claimed the he attempted to get in touch with Meghan but has been ignored. He then published a letter this his daughter wrote to him.

The letter read: “It is with a heavy heart that I write this, not understanding why you have chosen to take this path, turning a blind eye to the pain you’re causing.

“Your actions have broken my heart into a million pieces – not simply because you have manufactured such unnecessary and unwarranted pain, but by making the choice to not tell the truth as you are puppeteered in this. Something I will never understand.

“You’ve told the press that you called me to say you weren’t coming to the wedding – that didn’t happen because you never called.”

A royal expert has claimed Meghan’s father may never meet her baby

Duncan Larcombe, author of Prince Harry: The Inside Story, believes it is now unlikely the pair will reunite after the Duchess of Sussex’s baby is born later this month.

Mr Larcombe said in an interview for TLC documentary Meghan and Harry: A Royal Baby Story: “I can’t think for a moment that Thomas Markle will ever be able to meet his grandson or granddaughter.”

However, Thomas still hopes to meet his youngest daughter’s first child.

His friend has said: “He is genuinely thrilled that his daughter is expecting her first child later this month. He’s been looking around baby stores for an appropriate gift to send.

“He even joked that the new arrival was likely to be showered with expensive baby items from Tiffany……with a little ‘Welcome to Tijuana’ t-shirt from him in the middle.

“Joking aside though, the distance in miles and emotions between him and Meghan hasn’t stopped him feeling proud for her and his new grandchild. He aims to sink a couple of beers in his local bar when he or she is born.”

It was recently claimed that Queen banned Meghan Markle wearing royal jewellery that was worn by Diana.

Sun journalist Dan Wootton discussed the story on ITV’s Lorraine.

He explained: “The Queen is in charge of the royal collection, a massive collection of all of the artefacts that the country and the Royal Family own.

“Included in that are some iconic prices of jewellery, many of which have been leant to Princess Diana.

“We’ve seen Kate wear certain items from the royal collection.

“The Queen has to give permission for any member of the Royal Family to wear any of these items of jewellery.”

Who is Meghan Markle? Quick profile

Meghan Markle was born Rachel Meghan Markle, on August 4, 1981 to parents Doria Ragland and father Thomas Markle.

Her father was previously married to Roslyn Loveless and Meghan has two elder half sibling – sister Samantha Markle and brother Thomas Markle Junior.

Meghan’s first television appearance in the USA was in an episode of the medical drama General Hospital in 2002.

She later moved on to roles in CSI, Without a Trace and Castle along with bit parts in Hollywood films including Get Him to the Greek, Remember Me and Horrible Bosses.

Meghan was also a “briefcase girl” on Deal or No Deal – but her most famous role was as Rachel Zane in legal drama Suits, which launched in 2011.

She was written out in the finale of the seventh series when her character got married, which aired in April 2018 – just before she got married herself.

Charity and humanitarian work

Meghan Markle’s career in television has gone hand-in-hand with her support for causes close to her heart.

She wrote about the stigma around menstrual health in an article for Time magazine and was a Global Ambassador for World Vision Canada – with whom she travelled to Rwanda for the charity’s Clean Water Campaign.

And her commitment to gender equality has seen her work with the United Nations – receiving a standing ovation in 2015 for her speech to mark International Women’s Day.

In September 2011, she wed film producer Trevor Engelson, who she began dating in 2004.

But the pair divorced two years later in August 2013, citing irreconcilable difference.

She was in a relationship with celebrity chef Cory Vitiello for almost two years, before they broke it off in 2016 but the two remain good friends.

And in June 2016, she met Prince Harry on a blind date set up by a mutual friend.

Their relationship began in October that year and just over one year later, on November 27, 2017, the pair announced their engagement.

They married on May 19, 2018 at St George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle.

Meghan’s heritage

Some have claimed Meghan Markle is the first mixed-race member of the Royal Family.

Historians are still arguing about Queen Charlotte, the wife of King George III.

But Meghan will be the first royal to openly embrace a mixed-race heritage.

She has written about the difficulties of being a biracial actress in Hollywood as she claims she is not black enough for some roles and not white enough for others.
