Man Utd fans given transfer deadline day update they ’won’t want to hear’ | Football | Sport

Manchester United have had a decent summer of recruitment with Harry Maguire, Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Dan James arriving at Old Trafford.

However, the Red Devils accepted a £77m bid from Inter Milan for striker Romelu Lukaku last night.

And Sky Sports’ Dharmesh Sheth thinks Ole Gunnar Solskjaer may not be able to replace the Belgian before the window closes.

“It is probably something United fans won’t want to hear but there is a chance that United might actually be done in this transfer window as far as incomings are concerned,” Sheth told Sky Sports’ Transfer Talk.

“But, their policy has been to sign young homegrown players.

“Dan James, Harry Maguire and Aaron Wan-Bassika have all arrived.

“The one outside of that that they were considering was Tottenham’s Christian Eriksen but that seems to have gone away as quickly as it arrived.

“We are told that they believe that Eriken’s heart is set on going to Real Madrid.”

Meanwhile, former Premier League defender Danny Mills has criticised United’s transfer policy.

Juventus star Paulo Dybala refused to move to Old Trafford and Mills reckons that is a cause for concern.

“I think you have to say it’s a little bit poor,” he said.

“This is Manchester United, still one of the biggest and richest clubs in the world.

“People are now turning them down and saying they don’t want to go to Man Utd.

“United have never had that situation before.

“Where are they going to finish this season, fifth, sixth, seventh.”
