Tropical Depression Dodong is the Philippines’ 4th tropical cyclone for 2019

MANILA, Philippines – The low pressure area (LPA) inside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) intensified into a tropical depression at 2 pm on Tuesday, June 25. It has been given the local name Dodong.

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) will issue its first bulletin on Tropical Depression Dodong at 5 pm on Tuesday. (READ: FAST FACTS: Tropical cyclones, rainfall advisories)

Dodong is the Philippines’ 4th tropical cyclone for 2019, after Amang in January, Betty in February, and Chedeng in March – all tropical depressions as well. (READ: LIST: PAGASA’s names for tropical cyclones in 2019)

PAGASA declared the start of the rainy season last June 14.
