London BLOODBATH: Man rushed to hospital after stabbing in Leyton, east London | UK | News

A MAN has been taken to hospital with stab wounds after an apparent car theft in Leyton in east London.

The incident happened at around 8.30pm this evening, Wednesday, April 17 on Grange Park Road, Leyton.

Pictures taken at the scene showed emergency services in attendance.

A Metropolitan Police spokesman said: “Police were called at 20:32hrs on Wednesday, 17 to reports of a stabbing on Grange Park Road, outside Oriana House.

“Officers attended with LAS. A man thought to be aged in his early 20s was found suffering from stab injuries having had his car stolen.

“He has been taken to hospital; we await an assessment of his condition.

“The stolen vehicle was located a short time later in Primrose Road.

“Enquiries into the circumstances continue.”

Another police spokesman told the man had been taken to hospital, where his condition was described as “non-life threatening and non-changing”.

The knife attack came just hours after a fatal stabbing in nearby Stoke Newington.

Metropolitan Police were called to the scene on Matthias Road at 5.47pm where officers fought to save the man’s life.

London Ambulance Service and London’s Air Ambulance also attended, but despite efforts to administer CPR the man died at the scene.

A police investigation is underway and the Homicide and Major Crime Command have informed.
