Kate Middleton’s WITTY response when pal tells her how lucky she is to have William | Royal | News

The Daily Mirror reports that during the early years, William, now 36, had a lot of admiration from women, though fell in love with Kate, Duchess of Cambridge, now mother to their three children – five-year-old George, three-year-old Charlotte and 11-month-old Louis. When a friend told Kate how lucky she was to be going out with William, her reply was quick-witted. Smiling, she simply said: “He’s lucky to have me.”

After a brief split, the couple got back together and tied the knot at a stunning ceremony in 2011.

When news broke of William’s proposal to Kate, now 37, his father Prince Charles famously commented: “They have been practising long enough.”

Royal expert Katie Nicholl claims William vowed he would not be pressured into marriage.

In her book, The Making of a Royal Romance, she said his parents’ divorce put him off the idea of rushing into marriage.

She said: “He was aware his father had been pressured into marrying Diana because she was deemed the suitable bride.

“He was reluctant to bow to similar pressure and vowed not to be hurried at the altar. He made his feelings clear, telling a journalist in an off-guard moment that he had no plans of getting married any time soon.”

William is even said to have warned his younger brother Harry, 34, of rushing into marriage with Meghan Markle, now the Duchess of Sussex.

Harry was said to have responded angrily saying William failed to “roll out the red carpet” for Meghan, 37, who is pregnant with their first child.

Meghan is facing challenges less than a year into her role as the wife of Prince Harry.

She and Harry were condemned by staff after they were banned from using the Frogmore House car park and forced to use one a mile away, which charges £10 for the day.

They were also criticised for reports that said they would not pose for pictures with their child on the hospital door step like Kate did with her children and the late Princess Diana did with William and Harry.

Meghan is instead considering a home birth at Frogmore Cottage, where the pair moved to in Windsor some 25 miles from the Kensington Palace home they shared with the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.

This came after a widely-publicised feud between Meghan and Kate, which spiralled out of control following a “tense” fitting for Princess Charlotte’s bridesmaid dress for Meghan and Harry’s wedding.
