Kate Middleton, 37, and Prince William, 36, first struck up a romance during their time at university. The couple briefly split, but went on to announce their engagement in November 2010, nine years after they first met. The couple married in the following year, in a televised ceremony at Westminster Abbey on April 29, 2011. Fast forward two years, and the pair welcomed the first of their three children into the world: Prince George, now five.

Since then, Princess Charlotte, three, and Prince Louis, 11 months, have been born into the Cambridge family.

As the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, the royal pair are often pictured in public. They’ve also shared some insight into their family life.

However, a quick look at their birth dates may also lead to a glimpse at what their relationship could be like.

Prince William was born on June 21, which means his star sign is Gemini.

Meanwhile, Kate’s birthday is January 9. This means that the Duchess is a Capricorn, according to the Zodiac.

Whether it was written in the stars or not, the couple certainly found love.

What do their horoscope signs reveal about their love compatibility?

The website Astrology.com reveals that the couple have defied the odds in terms of the Zodiac.

An analysis says of a Gemini and Capricorn relationship: “It may be tough for them to remember why they’re together at all, as the ways in which they approach the world couldn’t be more opposite.

“If they’re operating from a base of love and mutual respect, they’ll be able to overcome most obstacles, but they must work hard.”

Another extract of the study of the two star signs in relation to one another addresses the typical nature of the two groups.

“Capricorn is very unassuming and quiet, which stands out even more against Gemini’s outgoing, boisterous nature,” it reads.

“Capricorn tends to be slow, steady and stubborn while Gemini is flexible and tends to change their mind a lot.”

Another interesting aspect of a Gemini Capricorn relationship is that the pair are said to achieve more together than they would alone, should they truly understand and take note of their different approaches.

The analysis continues: “If these two can learn to understand and then implement one another’s approaches, they can achieve far more than they could alone.

“These two Signs may make much better business partners than they do lovers.”

Kate has not been stepping out on royal visit too recently, so where is she?

Prince William and the Duchess may be spending some quality time with their children, as Prince George has broken up from school for the Easter holidays.

How did Kate Middleton become a royal?

Early life

Kate Middleton, or Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, was born on 9 January 1982 at the Royal Berkshire Hospital, Reading, England.

She was born to Michael and Carole Middleton, a former flight dispatcher and air hostess. The couple founded a party supplies company, Party Pieces, in 1987 – now estimated to be worth £30 million.

Kate has a younger sister Pippa Matthews, 34, and a younger brother James Middleton, 31.

Education

Kate and her family moved to Amman, Jordan, in 1984, where the future Duchess was educated at an English-speaking nursery school.

After moving back to Berkshire the family sent Kate to private school, St Andrews School. She went on to briefly study at Downe House before moving onto Marlborough College where she boarded.

For university the young Kate attended the University of St Andrews in Fife, Scotland. Here she was awarded an undergraduate MA (2:1 Hons) in history of art.

Relationship with Prince William

Kate met Prince William when they were both studying at St Andrews, and both living in St Salvator’s Hall. Famously, William reportedly took a fancy to Kate after she wore a see-through dress during a fashion show.

In 2003 the couple began dating and lived together during their second year of university.

The couple split in April 2007, however, in October they were back together.

Wedding

Prince William proposed to Kate Middleton with his late mother Princess Diana’s engagement ring in October 2010. The couple were holidaying in Kenya at the time.

On 29 April 2011 they married at Westminster Abbey with a whopping 26 million watching the event live.

Kate wore an Alexander McQueen dress worth a reported £250,000 on the big day.

Kate assumed the title “Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cambridge” and also become the Duchess of Cambridge on the day.
