Fake Christmas trees are a cost-effective way to decorate your home during the festive season, since they last decades if you look after them. On top of that, artificial trees are always more symmetrical and tidy-looking. The downside to purchasing an artificial tree is you don’t get the full and fluffy effect you would with a real one. Express.co.uk has done the research for you and reveals how to make your artificial tree look fuller.

How to make your artificial Christmas tree look fuller

Fluff the branches

After being scrunched up in the loft all year, artificial trees come out looking flat.

Just like you fluff flat pillows, Christmas tree branches can be fluffed to look thicker.

There is nothing worse than a thin and scraggly-looking branch, but you can fix that with just a few touches.

Work from bottom to top and root to tip, fanning out the individual needles one by one.

Fake snow

Breathe new life into lacklustre and tired branches with some fake snow.

Carefully sprinkle the stuff onto the tree, focussing on the top side of each branch.

This won’t make your tree look more real, but it will hide any damage done to the tree.

Lay down towels and use a sieve to spread the Snow Floc.
