“Under current circumstances, we would recommend that you do 60°C washes, more regularly, as soon as clothes have been worn.”

While it can be tempting to put on a quick wash, homeowners can get rid of viruses by opting for a cycle at 60°C.

The NHS has also shared guidelines on how to look after material items during the coronavirus spread.

Britons should not share towels or bedding with those who have any symptoms of the virus.
