Avengers Endgame producer drops Spider-Man Far From Home BOMBSHELL | Films | Entertainment

Avengers Endgame isn’t just the fourth Avengers movie, it’s also the 22nd film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the end of Phase 3 of the franchise and the conclusion to the Infinity Saga. Still with us? The MCU is made up of three major narrative phases and earlier this year Feige revealed that Phases 1-3 will be known as the Infinity Saga, as original Avengers like Iron Man and Captain America bow out.

The assumption was always that the next film in the franchise, Spider-Man Far From Home, would be the first film of Marvel Phase 4 and the beginning of a new and currently untitled saga.

One that will see superheroes such as Captain Marvel, Spider-Man, Black Panther and Doctor Strange head up the Avengers – even though most of them are currently dead.

However, if the existence of Spider-Man Far From Home is anything to go by, this won’t be their situation for much longer come the events of Avengers Endgame.

But to confuse things, Feige has now revealed that Spider-Man Far From Home is, in fact, the final film of Marvel Phase 3, and presumably the Infinity Saga.

Speaking at an Avengers Endgame fan event in Shanghai, the producer confirmed: “It’s the end of the third phase.

“You’re the first one I’ve told that to.”

In one sense this makes sense because, beyond Spider-Man Far From Home, Marvel Studios have yet to officially announce the Phase 4 line-up of movies despite rumours of sequels for currently deceased characters like Black Panther and Doctor Strange.

But, in another sense, this is odd seeing as Far From Home is the first post-Endgame movie where Thanos’ Snap has presumably been reversed.

Then again, Ant-Man was the final movie of Phase 2, following on from Avengers Age of Ultron.

Perhaps there will be something even more conclusive to see in Far From Home to end the Infinity Saga beyond Endgame?

Avengers Endgame is released in UK cinemas on April 25 and will be followed by Spider-Man Far From Home on July 3, 2019.
