Lord Alan Sugar is known by many for starring on the UK version of The Apprentice for the last 14-years. Tonight, the businessman is back on screens as he appears on Piers Morgan’s Life Stories. Throughout his career, he has had many successful ventures which has helped him build an impressive fortune. All of his work has made him a regular on The Sunday Times Rich List, but just how much money does he have?

Lord Alan Sugar Net Worth

The TV star has a net worth of £1.2 billion, according to The Sunday Times Rich List.

Alan was born in Hackney, East London on 24 March 1947, making him 72-years-old.

Working in a greengrocer’s, Alan managed first started making cash before he left school at the age of 16.

He then briefly began working as a statistician at the Ministry of Education while making money on the side selling radio ariels and electrical goods.

In 1968, the businessman found success when he founded Amstrad – which began as a wholesaler before specialising in consumer electronics.

It was announced in July 2007 BSkyB would buy Amstrad for a whopping £125 million and Alan stepped down from his chairman role the following year to focus on his other businesses.

Lord Sugar also added to his impressive wealth by being the former owner of Tottenham Hotspurs football club, which he bought in June 1991.

Selling his majority stake in the club ten years later, Alan scooped a mammoth £22 million for the deal.

A few years later, he sold his remaining 12 per cent share for £25 million.

Lord Sugar has also boosted his net worth through his property empire.
