Kate Middleton and Prince William enjoyed a family day out at the weekend as they attended a football match. Prince George, six, and Princess Charlotte, four, were spotted cheering from the crowds at ta Premier League match between Norwich City and Aston Villa. During the outing, Kate and William looked relaxed and natural with their children, body language expert, Judi James, told What did their body language reveal about the family?

They may be part of the Royal Family, but the Duke and Duchess appeared like any normal family as they enjoyed a day out, Judi explained.

She said: “Perhaps the most outstanding aspect of Cambridge’s body language here is their air of normality as they sit watching football.

“With William appearing to mentor George like any dad taking his son through the bonding ritual that is the football match on one side, Kate performs what looks like the same duties with Charlotte on the other.”

Although Kate will usually step out for important formal duties, she put this aside and showed off her spontaneous side as she encouraged the children’s excitement.

“Both children signalled spontaneous delight when their team scored, jumping up from their seats and performing arm-waving rituals of genuine excitement,” Judi added.

“William and Kate did more to encourage this spontaneity rather than taking the more regal tone and trying to quieten them down.”

The Duke and Duchess looked relaxed with each other and Kate focused on Princess Charlotte while William bonded with George over football.

Judi explained: “Kate and William look relaxed and natural together here but it’s clearly George who has William’s focus of attention.

“With his sleeves rolled up, William’s facial expressions show the serious nature of the sport and when he talks to little George he bends to get their faces at the same height as though muttering to a friend.

“He’s clearly keen to pass on his enthusiasm for football to his children, even leaning in as he claps to share the mood of the moment with his son.”
